One of the most fun sets in The Division is the FireCrest set. It is designed for the flamethrower and a lot of fire. We show you a secret FireCrest build in 1.8.1
With the Underground expansion, the FireCrest set made its way to The Division. In its first version, however, it was relatively weak and did not attract much attention.
With Update 1.4, the entire game was subsequently overhauled, including the gear sets. Since then, the FireCrest set has become popular in PvE of The Division and is very suitable for controlling groups of enemies with its focus on the flamethrower.
More of a PvE set: Unfortunately, the FireCrest set can only be recommended to a limited extent for PvP. Most agents are equipped with immunity healing stations. Thus, they are immune to your turret. Without the turret, the set loses most of its advantages.
This is what the 4-piece set can do
- 2-piece bonus: +3 incendiary grenade capacity
- 3-piece bonus: +50% flamethrower range, +30% flamethrower damage
- 4-piece bonus: Talent – Damage is increased by 15% against burning targets.
FireCrest is a very strong set, whose turret can burn your enemies quite a bit.

This is what the 5-piece and 6-piece bonuses can do in 1.8.1
The secret FireCrest set enhances your flamethrower even more and makes you an even more effective pyromaniac.
These are the additional bonuses when you have equipped 6 secret set pieces:
- 5-piece bonus: +1 capacity for incendiary grenades, +5% flamethrower range, +20% flamethrower damage.
- 6-piece bonus: 2% chance to set enemies on fire with your weapons. Burning enemies can trigger an explosion every 10 seconds. You are immune to the fire explosions you cause. The burning effect is extended by 25% for every 2000 electronics.
Thus, you have a total of +50% damage and +55% range on your flamethrower. Throw this, if possible, right into the fray and let as many enemies burn as possible. These will be temporarily unable to attack due to the status effect, allowing you to fire at them undisturbed.
Extremely powerful flamethrower with the Classified FireCrest set
YouTuber NothingButSkillz presents in his video his version of the set, which we would like to introduce to you. It is quite powerful, but according to his own statement can still be optimized further.
The values of the build are 2958 firearms, 2939 stamina and 9871 electronics.
These are the stats of the build
- Chest piece: Health, skill haste, and extra kill XP
- Mask: Skill power, damage against elite
- Knee pads: Skill power, damage against elite, fire resistance, disorient resistance
- Backpack: Skill power, ammunition capacity
- Gloves: Assault rifle damage, enemy armor damage, and skill haste
- Holster: Skill haste
Which mods should you use? For mods, 5 purple electronics mods with damage against elite are recommended. Damage against elite also affects your turret, which provides a greater damage bonus than maximum skill power. Although the numbers contradict this, they are not always indicative.
Additionally, 4 performance mods with turret damage are used to deal even higher damage.

These weapons are used
FireCrest in combination with the exotic Urban MDR is a deadly mix. The unique talent of this assault rifle, “Distracted”, allows you to deal 18% more damage against enemies affected by a status effect. It is a semi-automatic weapon, making it precise and having a high base damage.
- Urban MDR with Gifted (Killing an enemy increases skill power by 15% for 20 seconds) and Competent (Using a skill increases your damage by 10% for 15 seconds) and Distracted (18% more damage against enemies with a status effect)
- The House with Gifted (Killing an enemy increases skill power by 15% for 20 seconds) and Competent (Using a skill increases your damage by 10% for 15 seconds) and Card Counter (Half of the magazine deals 20% more damage. The half with increased damage switches every 15 seconds or when the magazine is empty.)
Why use The House as your secondary weapon? The choice is not really fixed. Here you can pick whatever you prefer. NothingButSkillz prefers this weapon for close combat.
Why Gifted and Competent? This build relies on a hefty dose of electronics, so your selection is very limited by the stats.
- “Gifted” temporarily increases your skill power and thus also the damage of your turret.
- “Competent” focuses on frequent skill usage, which should be the case with this build. Thus, your weapon damage also benefits.

Which weapon mods are recommended for the build?
For the Urban MDR, NothingButSkillz uses
- a C79 scope (3.4x) with Crit damage, headshot damage, and optimal range,
- a rifle suppressor Omega with headshot damage, crit damage, and crit chance,
- a short grip with crit damage, precision, and stability
- and an extended magazine with crit damage and crit chance
For The House, he chooses
- a C79 scope (3.4x) with crit damage, headshot damage, and crit chance,
- a Ti-RANT suppressor with crit chance, crit damage, and headshot damage,
- a short grip with crit damage, reload speed, and precision
- and an extended magazine with crit chance and fire rate
You can also use other mods, according to your preferences.
The skills
This build uses the following skills:
- Flamethrower
- First Aid with Overdose
- Recovery Link
And these character talents:
- Inspiration
- Counter
- Firestarter
- Precision
If you follow this template, you can’t go wrong with your sets.
The powerful flamethrower that keeps the enemy masses under control is the greatest advantage of this build, and with the Urban MDR, you have a weapon that benefits directly from your arson and is very strong at almost all distances.
Note: In the current Global Event, you still have the opportunity to farm the Classified pieces until May 31.
