In The Division, there is an object since the Underground expansion that attracts the hate and frustration of the agents: The Stairs!
Every agent who has played Ubisoft’s MMO shooter for a few hours knows the entrance to the operations base. And every agent knows how annoying it is to march through this section. Because your character can only move through the entrance area at a painfully slow pace. They are not capable of moving at a faster speed.
If this relatively short section already drives you to despair, you will truly enjoy the stairs that lead to the new terminal. It quickly earned a name: “The Stairs” – and everyone immediately knows which one is meant.

But what is this stepped passage down to the underground all about?
Just like in the entrance area of the operations base, “The Stairs”, and a few extra meters, can only be walked down at a snail’s pace. So if you run past the reward handler to get to the underground terminal, the way down can be quite lengthy.
This march is only worse if you take it in reverse. Because then you are already walking a few meters slowly ahead, and you still have the ascent in front of you: “The Stairs” loom before you.

If one only had to go down there a few times, it wouldn’t be so bad. But since you can only start the new underground missions down there, you will use “The Stairs” more often than you would like.
While it is also possible to fast travel to the terminal, since some important features, like the upgrade station, are only “upstairs”, you have to climb the stairs as quickly as possible.
Likely, “The Stairs” will continue to attract the hate and frustration of the agents for a long time. Some users say they would prefer a black loading screen over this painfully slow walking.
