Tip 1: Go Rogue – if the opportunity arises
Your progress in the Dark Zone is terribly slow if you only kill NPCs. Occasionally, it can be very advisable to take another agent’s loot. You can identify a suitable target by the yellow container it carries on its back, and most importantly: that it is alone. This is the best opportunity to ambush the agent and quickly grab some loot. Of course, this approach also carries dangers – as you will be marked as rogue.

Tip 2: Open the fight with a grenade

In addition to this obvious benefit, many grenades have the effect of preventing your opponents from sprinting away. This stops their likely first reaction: to flee. Tip 3: Team up
Even though you can stroll through the Dark Zone alone, a lone wolf rarely stands a chance against a group of other agents. Therefore: Team up with others. Grab a friend – or better yet, three – and dominate together in the Dark Zone.

Tip 4: When in doubt, run
Whether you are currently rogue or being pursued by rogue agents: sometimes fleeing is the best defense. If you face outnumbering enemies or are otherwise unsure whether you will emerge victorious from a situation, then sprint like mad.
On one hand, you will be harder to hit while sprinting and rolling, on the other hand, during your escape, you have the option to heal and regroup. So take your legs and run. This is rarely a bad idea – unless you get hit anyway, outflanked, or run straight into the arms of the next hostile group.
Tip 5: Use shortcuts
If you want to dominate the Dark Zone, it is first important that you know it. You need to know how to get from A to B the quickest or where the next escape route is. The subway tunnels are excellent for this.
Occasionally disappearing underground is very advisable. Especially when you are rogue, you can hide in the underground. Not only does it offer a variety of cover options, but also some of your enemies will not know how to get there. Perfect for waiting out the timer.
