Patch notes for the update 1.7 of The Division have been released for play on the PTS.
Since today (30.6.), the public test servers on PC are live – consoles will follow later. Massive published a lengthy list of the PTS patch notes for update 1.7.
Keep in mind that these patch notes are not the final patch notes for update 1.7. They will be adjusted over the coming weeks.
What changes with update 1.7
Once update 1.7 is available in the live game, all these contents are free for all players to download.
Initially, Massive lists the 5 most important new features:
- Global Events: Time-limited events that add modifiers to PvE activities, making them more varied. You earn “Global Event” tokens that can be used to purchase rewards.

- Commendations and patches: You will receive over 500 goals to fulfill that allow you to unlock rewards. Some commendations will reward you with a patch displayed on the agent’s right arm. For the PTS, these goals have been adjusted so they can be reached faster. Many goals and patches are missing.
- Post-character customization: A “bathroom” will be installed in the terminal allowing you to customize the appearance of your agents.
- Encrypted crates: There are new crates at the premium vendor that can only be opened with a key. You can buy and craft these keys with real money by finding key fragments in the game. The encrypted crates contain cosmetic items.
- Classified Gear: These are new versions of already existing gear sets. If you equip five or six of these, you unlock 5-set and 6-set bonuses. Classified armor pieces will initially only be available during global events. They will then be added to the general loot pool. The primary stats are higher than those of “normal” gear, ranging from 1274 to 1401.
Note: Not all new features will be playable on the PTS from the start. For example, Global Events will come later.
Four examples of 6-set bonuses
In the patch notes, the new bonuses from Watchman’s Call, Striker, Recovery, and Final Measure are mentioned. While the 5-set bonuses increase the 2-set and 3-set bonuses, the 6-set bonuses improve the talents:
- Final Measure: When you disable a grenade through the talent, all allies within 30 meters (and the player themselves) receive a buff. This buff depends on the type of grenade. EMP and shock grenades increase skill power by 15% for 8 seconds, HE and incendiary grenades increase weapon damage by 15% for 8 seconds, and flash and gas grenades increase armor by 15% for 8 seconds.
- Watchman’s Call: NPC enemies can now receive up to 6 marks. After three marks, there is a 25% chance that each subsequent headshot on the target will also mark another enemy within 10 meters of that target. If a target has 6 marks, you deal 100% more headshot damage.

- Striker: Each hit adds a self-healing bonus of 0.1% of max health per second. For every 1000 stamina, this bonus increases by 0.01%. Up to 100 hits are stackable. The bonus decreases by 0.1% per second. The bonus can be removed with EMP.
- Recovery: The support station has a 25% chance not to have a cooldown when destroyed by an enemy. Every 1000 electronics increases this chance by 2%. Additionally, it has +50% support station revival speed, +100% support station healing speed, and +100% support station health points.
Note: You can find the bonuses of all gear sets here.
Additionally: The NinjaBike Backpack is making a comeback. Its talent is that it functions as an additional armor piece for all equipped gear sets, allowing the bonuses to be unlocked. The bonuses from the Classified Gear cannot be unlocked by NinjaBike. More information about the new NinjaBike Backpack can be found here.
