One of the 3 specializations of The Division 2 is the Demolitionist. This guide covers the best perks and how to crush entire groups of enemies with the grenade launcher.
These are the specializations of the endgame: From max level 30, you can unlock a total of 3 specializations in your operations base and freely switch between them.
Each specialization has a unique weapon and its own skill tree, where you can unlock various advantages.
Here are the key features, the best perks, and things you should pay attention to with the Demolitionist specialization.

With the Demolitionist, it’s all about explosions
This is what distinguishes the Demolitionist: As the name suggests, this specialization is all about destruction.
The Demolitionist is designed for explosive damage and is probably the best specialization to control and eliminate groups of enemies.
These are the features of the Demolitionist:
- The unique weapon: Users of this specialization have access to the M32A1 multi-grenade launcher. This allows you to fire grenades and cause massive explosive damage.
- The unique skill mod: With the Demolitionist, you can unlock the artillery gun. This allows you to fire explosive projectiles accurately.
- Grenade type: Fragmentation grenades cause bleeding damage.
- Unique outfit: Additionally, there is a complete specialization outfit that makes you look like a tank.

However, the grenade type and the gun must first be unlocked in the respective skill tree using specialization points.
The best perks of the Demolitionist
These perks are especially recommended: With enough specialization points, you can complete the entire skill tree. However, this takes some time.
These are the perks that are the best and should be skilled first:

- Individual weapon damage (4 ranks): Increases the damage of your individual weapon by up to 145%
- Explosive turret (3 ranks): Increases the explosion damage from explosive grenades, skills, and effects by up to 15%
- Shoot and Pray (3 ranks): Increases the damage of submachine guns by up to 15%
- Assault (3 ranks): Increases the damage of LMGs by up to 15%
- X-stat repair kit supplement: Repair kits only restore 70% of your armor. However, a buff is activated that increases your weapon handling by 100% for 15 seconds. Once the buff has expired, the remaining 30% armor is restored.
- Tactical Link (only worth it in a team): Group members receive 5% damage for targets that are not in cover.
- On Impact: You are immune to an explosion every 60 seconds
- Crisis Management: If your armor is destroyed, your main weapon’s ammunition is replenished. This also affects your magazine, so you can keep shooting.
If you ever find yourself dissatisfied with your skills, you can reset your distributed points at any time and try other perks. To complete a skill tree, you need 160 points.
How do I get skill points for my specialization? Every type of task where the faction Black Tusk is your enemy rewards you with specialization points upon completion.
You always receive points for the specialization that you have active at that time.

What else should you pay attention to? The grenade launcher of the Demolitionist is a really powerful piece. With well-aimed shots, you can annihilate entire groups of enemies.
Therefore, increase your explosive damage and the damage of your grenade launcher as quickly as possible.
How do I do this best?
- You can increase your explosive damage, for example, by equipping a piece of the China Light Industries Corporation set. This already gives you a +10% bonus.
- Additionally, you should have the talent “Destructive” on as many armor pieces as possible, which again means a 20% bonus per piece.

Here’s how you should approach combat: In combat, pay attention to possible enemy spawn points and always have your launcher ready. For single enemies, don’t waste your ammunition, unless you are dealing with the heavy tanks.
If you run out of ammo, try using grenades and explosive skills to take out more enemies. This way, ammunition should reliably drop.
These weapons should you take: Your weapon choice isn’t really set. Through the skill tree, you can increase the damage of SMGs and LMGs.
You can utilize this and carry both weapon types. Thus, you should be equipped for any distance in combat. In general, however, you can use any weapon class.
