Recently, we presented you our five weapons from The Division 1 that we would like to see in The Division 2. You could choose your favorites from these. This is the quite clear result.
Last week, we showed you five weapons from part 1, which we hope will be present again in The Division 2. We also launched a survey among Mein-MMO readers, asking which of these five weapons would be your favorite.
The choices were the G36 assault rifle, the AUG submachine gun, the Big Alejandro LMG, the semi-automatic Urban MDR assault rifle, and the Bullfrog.
Weapons from The Division 1 in Part 2 – The G36 Assault Rifle is the clear winner
After about a week, we received 409 responses and are now evaluating them. This is the current result:
- 48 percent would most like to take the G36 to Washington D.C.,
- in second place is the semi-automatic Urban MDR assault rifle with 21 percent,
- followed by the Bullfrog assault rifle with only 11 percent, and
- last are the AUG and Big Al’, which both received just 10 percent of the votes each.
Almost every second fan who participated in the survey prefers the G36 assault rifle.
The G36 Assault Rifle – Here’s why we want to see it in The Division 2
Here was our description of the G36 in last week’s survey article:
Where is the blueprint? The G36 is almost like a community wish on Mein-MMO. If you follow the weekly articles about the vendor reset you may have noticed the frequently repeated question about a blueprint for the G36. This has become something of a running gag.
In the meantime, the G36 was the top choice among the weapons: This wish does not come from nowhere. The G36 was not in The Division from the start, but was added with patch 1.3. It quickly became clear that it was the strongest weapon at that time. Therefore, the assault rifle was relatively quickly hit by the nerf hammer.
What makes the G36 a good weapon? Even after the nerf, this weapon was still among the expanded circle of the best assault rifles. The G36 has good base damage and is still the first choice for some agents primarily because of its good handling.
This change we would like to see: Unfortunately, the G36 has a characteristic that makes it difficult to get a good specimen. It comes standard with a fixed talent in the third slot. This talent is called Focused and is one of the most useless weapon talents in the game.
This means that with every drop or vendor offer, you have to hope that the other two talents are good, since Focused can be replaced by better alternatives. However, this requires a certain amount of luck.
This “feature” with the fixed talent should be reconsidered by Massive; at least these should be usable.

You have also actively commented and expressed your wishes for certain weapons. We have picked out some excerpts:
- Frystrike “wishes” for the G36 a “talent” where the weapon becomes inaccurate due to prolonged firing or high temperatures. We suspect this is a reference to the real problems with the G36.
- Matima hopes for part 2 a shield with the inscription “No G36 Blueprint here!” that should be placed directly next to the vendor. Furthermore, pistols should gain more importance as they currently serve little purpose.
- dirkrs wonders why Massive has never adjusted the remaining weapons. At present, only a few are really good, like the M4, the Showstopper, and The House. The rest of the selection would be “massive” inferior
- Prometheus seems to agree with the survey result; next to the G
36, his favorite weapon, the MG5, and the M700 sniper rifle must not be missed. - Lukas Hartl would like to see the assault rifle variant of the AUG, which has a higher (5.56x45mm) caliber and a larger magazine than the submachine gun.
- Marcel would like a completely new weapon: The FN P90. This is his absolute favorite weapon, also because it is used by SG-1 from Stargate.
Both the readers and we are curious about which weapons await us in The Division 2 and at the same time hope for a few new models.
