Last night, the State of the Game took place on March 27. In this livestream, the developers revealed what many agents have been wanting to know for days: the start date for World Tier 5.
The start date for World Tier 5: It begins on April 5. That’s Friday next week. On this day, Massive will conduct longer maintenance. Once the servers are back online, you can explore the “true” endgame of The Division 2.
What to expect in World Tier 5
The content of World Tier 5:
- You can attack Tadil Basin, the stronghold of the Black Tusk. According to Massive, this is a military base where you will encounter unique defensive structures. This stronghold is said to be huge and to offer what one would expect from a stronghold of such a nasty and powerful high-tech faction.
- If you are at World Tier 4, this stronghold will be displayed as a mission on April 5. If you succeed in this mission, you will advance to World Tier 5.
- The new gear score cap will be 500.
- Gear sets will be unlocked. These are armor sets that activate unique talents. Massive announced today that there will be three different gear sets available at launch. They are supposed to feature “crazy” talents. The descriptions for these are already quite long. They are excited to see how you will combine these into builds. They are called True Patriot, Ongoing Directive, and Hardwired.
- You will obtain gear sets by eliminating Black Tusk enemies. A good source should be the invaded missions.
- In World Tier 5, there will be weekly invasions. This means that once a week, the missions (as well as strongholds) that are “invaded” will rotate. Missions that are currently not invaded can also be taken over by the Black Tusk. In these missions, you can choose whether to play them as a normal mission or as invaded.
- In World Tier 5, you can activate the “heroic” difficulty level in the invaded missions. This is supposed to be a challenge for the best agents. There will be no loot hidden behind this difficulty level, but if you succeed, you should be generously rewarded, including with gear set parts. However, there will be no exclusive heroic rewards.
What else will change on April 5: On this day, numerous bug fixes, balancing adjustments, and smaller changes will be made. The strange, bugged stairs will also be fixed.
Why is World Tier 5 so important? At World Tier 4, many agents lack the motivation to optimize their builds. With World Tier 5, the gear parts become “worthless” and the hunt for the best items begins anew. Therefore, many players are currently eagerly awaiting World Tier 5, the “true endgame,” where the grind becomes worthwhile in the long run.
