For the first time, The Division 2 gives insight into the DLC plans after the official release on March 15. This includes new raids, specializations, and new enemies. We summarize what is known about the plans.
What is it about? Since the announcement of The Division 2, not much has been said about the post-release plans. What is certain is that three free DLCs are planned for the first year, which are supposed to bring various content.
In the subreddit of The Division, developer Massive is now revealing more concrete plans for the first time. Additionally, Creative Director Julian Gerighty talks about a rough timeline.
When can we expect new DLCs? In an interview with ScreenRant.com , Gerighty answered the question about a possible timeline for the DLCs after release:
Ideally, as I’ve had in mind, every 3 months. In reality, only when they are finished. If we feel that it is good enough, it will come. […], there is a lot to balance. And it means a lot of fine-tuning, which we are currently experiencing. So if we don’t feel ready or think it changes the meta in a way we don’t agree with, it won’t be released.
So one can roughly expect about 3 months between release and the individual DLCs, but shouldn’t be surprised by deviations.

Extensive DLC Plans
This is what will be included in the upcoming DLCs:
- New raids
- Three new mission episodes, likely the story part of the DLCs
- three new specializations
- New enemies
- New gear sets
- New exotics
- Bounties
- New modes
- Map expansions
It is not yet known how exactly this content will be distributed across the 3 DLCs. The specifics of the content are still open. It will likely also depend on how much the developers draw on ideas from the first part.
Will these old contents return? In advance, there have already been speculations about whether the Underground and Survival modes could return in The Division 2. Julian Gerighty himself repeatedly emphasizes that he is a big fan of the Survival mode.
Even if that doesn’t hold much weight, Massive is known for listening to fan feedback. And they don’t seem opposed to a comeback of Survival. The same seems to apply to Underground.

Not much is known about raids yet: The developers have not yet released any details about the raids. It is only known that up to 8 players can venture out in a group. The raids are said to be quite large and reminiscent of classic raids in MMORPGs.
In addition to the information about the plans, there are also more details about the operations base. Here’s how it works.
