On Tuesday, February 2nd, The Division 2 will receive the new Title Update 12. MyMMO summarizes what content and changes await players at the end of year 2.
What is TU12.1 all about? Even though it is currently unclear how and if The Division 2 will continue in year 3, and many agents are concerned about the shooter, the developers at Massive are apparently still working on their game behind the scenes.
So, on the upcoming Tuesday (02.02.2021), there will be a new patch for The Division 2 as part of the current Season 4 – Title Update 12.1. This brings several changes and kicks off a special event focused on the horror classic Resident Evil.
By the way, this is likely to be the last substantial update in the outgoing year 2 of The Division 2.
What to expect with Title Update 12
Recently, there has been very little activity regarding The Division 2 on official channels. This hasn’t improved after the Star Wars announcement. Massive and Ubisoft are still keeping the future of The Division 2 a secret.
However, recently Johan Lindholm, the community developer from Massive, briefly broke the silence and offered a first glimpse into the immediate future of the shooter. He outlined the specific contents of the next major update – Title Update 12.1.
This is what we know so far: TU12.1 focuses on 3 things:
- TU12.1 introduces the crossover event with Resident Evil. It’s called “Codename: Nightmares” – a special clothing event where players can earn outfits and other cosmetics inspired by the Resident Evil series. You can find out more here: Resident Evil is coming to The Division 2: Soon you’ll look like STARS
- With Title Update 12.1, a kind of next-gen upgrade for the new consoles PS5 and Xbox Series is introduced. This will allow players to play The Division 2 in 4K and 60 FPS on these platforms.
- Also with TU12.1, the balance of the optimization station introduced with Title Update 12 will be improved. This is a powerful tool for fine-tuning endgame builds. For a certain fee, players can squeeze the maximum out of every equipment item. Many players found the costs for optimization too high, and these are now set to be reduced by 75%.
Is there more to come? The patch notes: Yes, there will be another change for the Reanimated event as well as numerous bug fixes with TU12.1. You can find the details here in the official patch notes:
