In the online shooter The Division 2 (PS4, Xbox One, PC), it has been revealed in the latest “State of the Game” that Title Update 4 will arrive on the live servers next week. It looks like a successful patch so far – we already provide you with some preliminary information, so to speak “Patch Notes” about what the update contains.
When will the patch be released? It is not entirely clear yet. However, in the weekly State of the Game on Wednesday evening, it was stated that the patch will come next week, between June 17 and June 21.
Hot candidates for the release of the update are Tuesday, June 18, or Thursday, June 20. Patches for The Division 2 usually come in the morning and are playable from noon onwards.
The test server will close on Friday.
What is special about it? So far, the patch on the test server of The Division 2 has been received excellently. Some features have been explicitly praised by players.
The patch primarily overhauls game mechanics but also brings a new exotic armor piece, the first in The Division 2.

What new things does the patch bring:
- This is the “Gunner” as a new specialization, equipped with a Gatling gun and focused on destruction.
- A new exotic holster, which has already enchanted players on the test server. It is called “Dodge City Gunslinger’s Exotic Holster” and is the first exotic armor piece you can strap around your waist. How to obtain 9 other Exotics in The Division 2, you can read here.
- Revised specialization – so far the fan favorite. Players in The Division 2 are expected to have more freedom in skill distribution.
- Revision of special ammunition – it will be completely overhauled, allowing agents to farm it accurately. However, on the PTS, the signature weapons did not deal enough damage, which is expected to change.
- Better visuals for named items: “items with names” receive a visual upgrade – Massive did not want to promote them straight to “Exotic,” but they should stand out a bit.
- The mod system will be fundamentally overhauled – there will only be 3 instead of 6 mod types and “generic mods” will no longer fit into high-end gear. The idea is to make mods generally easier to use. Agents should be able to quickly swap mods while leveling up and equip mods they want in the endgame.
The patch will likely not bring new content, that will be taken care of by Episode 1, which we expect in summer 2019. It should introduce 2 fresh operations.
How The Division 2 will continue long-term, has been revealed by Massive at E3 2019.
