The developers of Massive are still diligently working on The Division 2 and have now granted a first insight into what we can expect in the next major patch, Title Update 9.1. Many players will likely be pleased with the planned NPC changes.
Another big update? In April, two major patches for The Division 2 arrived with Title Update 8.5 and Title Update 9. However, Massive admits that the shooter still has issues. Therefore, work on the game continues, and the next major patch is already in the works – Title Update 9.1.
When is TU9.1 scheduled to arrive? So far, it is stated that the new Title Update is planned for mid-May. However, a specific date will likely be announced next Wednesday as part of the new “State of the Game” blog, according to the developers.
These changes from Title Update 9.1 have already been revealed by Massive
In the current State of the Game from 29.04, there was already a brief insight into what to expect. Note that this is just a short teaser, and further changes are to be communicated in the coming weeks. The following adjustments are therefore not everything to look forward to.
These 3 changes are likely to please many: The (so far) most important changes affect the NPCs, specifically the AI enemies in The Division 2. For instance, the following adjustments will be made
- the aggressiveness of NPCs
- the precision of NPCs
- as well as their grenade spam
will be revised. And this will certainly please many players. Because most of the changes are based on player feedback, and these points have been among the most annoying problems with the AI for many since the launch.
Enemies acting absolutely recklessly, ignoring all fire and aggressively rushing the player, are included, as are enemies who accurately hit at extreme distances with Uzis or shotguns like snipers.
Almost a running gag are also the flying grenades from some enemy units that hit their mark every time with the surgical precision of a laser-guided bomb – and that over great distances and seemingly in continuous fire.
Now it seems that this will (hopefully) soon come to an end.
What else is expected to change with TU9.1: In addition to the NPC changes, the following has been indicated for the next major client update:
- Numerous bug fixes for various issues in the game
- Fix of frame rate drops in the Dark Zone
- An adjustment of the Warhound convoy activity. In its current form, it grants a lot of XP, but Massive does not see it as an exploit, just as “too generous.” This is set to change with the patch.
What’s next until Title Update 9.1? TU9.1 will be a major update with many changes, so a client patch. But until then, smaller server-side updates will fix minor issues during maintenance, according to the developers. So, work on the game will continue.
