With The Division 2, the long summer break is now coming to an end. Massive reveals what is planned for September.
When does the summer break end? In recent weeks, it has been quite quiet around The Division 2. Massive announced a communication break and mentioned that they would likely be back by the end of August.
This silence has lasted a bit longer, though. The developers now write: “The summer break of the State of the Game is officially over, we will return next Wednesday.”
The State of the Game is a weekly livestream where the developers talk about the current state of the game and announce upcoming content.

What is planned for September? Next Wednesday, Massive wants to announce a concrete schedule for the upcoming shows.
Because during each State of the Game in September, they will focus on a special aspect of the game – and likely lay out how this will change or what is planned for the future. With this info offensive, they will approach the next title update.
In the SotG livestreams, they will also discuss what happened during the summer, want to talk about the Elite Task Force, and present new Agent highlights.
What does this mean? From this information, one can conclude:
- In September, not much is likely to change in the game itself. Because they only discuss aspects of the game in each September SotG and slowly approach the next title update, which likely means that no update is to be expected in September. The SotGs are scheduled to take place on the 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th of September.
What is the Elite Task Force all about? In mid-August, Massive was looking for community representatives to travel to Sweden to talk with the developers about the future of The Division 2. They will be presented with planned innovations behind closed doors, to which they can provide feedback.
According to Massive, the ETFs of the past were important key moments for implementing game-changing innovations in The Division 1. Therefore, they are repeating the ETFs in The Division 2. The upcoming ETF workshop will take place from September 4 to September 6.
