In an interview, a developer provided a glimpse into the 8-man raid for The Division 2, which is currently in planning.
In a conversation with Dualshockers.com, Terry Spier, a staff member of Red Storm Studios, revealed that they are still working hard to implement community feedback.
Furthermore, it is confirmed that Red Storm is working on content that is set to be released post-launch. This includes the 8-man raid, which is expected to be released as a free DLC within the first year. Spier was at least able to share a few brief details about it.
8-Man Raid is Challenging
Unfortunately, Spier did not reveal any specifics in the interview, but he made it clear that the raid will not be a walk in the park.
Here’s what he said about the raid for 8 players:
It will be massive. It’s not a kiddie event. This is a real raid that will challenge you, drag you through the mud, and make you ask: “How do we do this?” It will also be great for our player base.
Unfortunately, that still doesn’t provide any concrete information. But at least there are now indications about the difficulty level of the raid. According to these statements, it likely won’t involve larger incursions that are relatively simple to achieve.
In fact, raids have been a community wish since The Division 1 was released almost three years ago. And the Red Storm Studios are responsible for exactly that. The interview made it clear that Red Storm Studios continues to work very closely with Massive on The Division 2.

Red Storm Studios Responsible for Post-Launch Content
Red Storm Studios is responsible for: During the time of The Division 1, Red Storm was primarily responsible for the later updates that got The Division 1 back on track. This includes the update 1.8, which brought the Resistance Mode, Rogue 2.0, and many other features and optimizations.
This particular update brought a resurgence and brought many players back. This studio is also responsible for the post-launch content of The Division 2.
We spent over two years in post-launch, working on The Division, improving the game, adding more and more new things to it. […] We want to do that again because it was fun.
Thus, it is now clear who is responsible for the content of the first year after the release of The Division 2. Other studios, including Massive itself, are probably involved as well.
By the way: DLCs will be completely free in the first year. Exceptions are possible cosmetic items, similar to those available in the premium shop of the first part, where players could pay with real money.
Are you excited about the raid? What do you envision it to be like?
