Ubisoft adjusts the loot in The Division 2. In Title Update 10.1, there will be higher minimum values for items that will adjust to the corresponding difficulty. Additionally, they want to improve loadout switching.
What changes in TU 10.1? In a new State of the Game for Division 2, the team explained that Title Update 10.1 is scheduled for July 21 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Stadia.
During the livestream, the developers talked about what the patch will change in the game. This includes various bug fixes and balance changes. However, the values of loot drops will also be adjusted, which players have long requested.
This is how TU 10.1 changes the loot
What is planned: With patch 10.1, loot obtained at higher difficulty levels will have higher minimum values. In the Challenging difficulty, the level will be slightly increased. Greater increases in minimum values will occur at heroic and legendary difficulties.
This adjustment comes after loot was already changed in Update 10.0 in June. In that update, the developers modified the distribution of item power between “Minimum” and “Maximum”. Additionally, the minimum values for clan chests and season caches were already increased in Update 10.0.
As early as March, criticism arose, and Ubisoft discussed its two biggest issues at the time. Players complained that
- when raising difficulty levels, the enemies can become far too strong
- and that the rewards for this increase in difficulty are too low
At that time, Ubisoft stated that they want to improve the loot: Higher difficulty levels should drop accordingly good loot and players should not be overwhelmed with mass amounts of purple items at “Challenging”.
What changes with the loadout?
What is annoying about loadout switching? If you want to switch your entire gear with just one button press, cooldown times of skills can disrupt this intention. Because when corresponding skills in the loadout are on cooldown, you cannot simply switch them.
What does Ubisoft want to do? In the stream, Ubisoft explained: “The team’s top priority is to restore players’ ability to switch loadouts while skills are on cooldown,” they stated. “The planned change allows players to switch their loadout while keeping the skill that is on cooldown equipped.”
