The Division 2 is taking its servers down for a few hours this morning, March 9th, to implement the new Title Update 12.3. Maintenance will start on all platforms (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, Stadia, PC) and MeinMMO will show you the details.
Update 1:00 PM: The maintenance has been successfully completed and the servers are back online:
Original announcement: Why the maintenance? The loot shooter has been suspiciously quiet in the open world for some time. However, the developers recently presented the plans for 2021 and even announced a new mode that will launch this year.
Additionally, the season cycle is starting again and with TU 12.3, Season 5 kicks off today, which is actually Season 1 from last year. With the so-called “Season Re-Runs,” you can experience the contents of the seasons again.

When will the servers go down? The maintenance has already started and is expected to last about 3 hours. Here is the schedule:
- Start of maintenance at 9:30 AM our time
- This also starts the downtime and you cannot play Division 2
- The servers are expected to be offline for 3 hours
- If everything goes smoothly, the servers will be back online at 12:30 PM
Keep in mind: There have been times in the past where the maintenance end was postponed – both forward and backward. So it’s very possible that you may have to wait longer for the servers to come back online. However, there have also been instances where the servers came back online earlier.

How big is the update? This varies a bit depending on which platform you are on. The developers provide the following update sizes:
- PC: approx. 3.6 GB
- Xbox: approx. 4.6 GB
- PlayStation: approx. 3.8 GB
The developers state that sizes may also vary in different regions. However, these figures are a good guideline for the size of the update.

What does the new update bring? The patch notes are very sparse. The “highlight” of the new title update is the start of the “Seasonal Re-Runs”. This launches a manhunt online, but the season pass also comes back into play. Here you can learn more about the seasons of The Division 2.

The Division 2 will also continue to be supported in 2021, but it can no longer shine with similar announcements as it did last year. Nevertheless, the open-world shooter is particularly interesting for newcomers who want to explore a large world and assemble interesting builds. It is among the best co-op shooters with an open world, even though it lags a bit in the endgame.
