In The Division 2, the PTS for Title Update 6 has now started. Here are the key details about the testing phase.
What is the PTS? The three letters “PTS” stand for “Public Test Server”. This is the public test server where you can preview upcoming changes and new features of the autumn update and send feedback to the developers.
How can one participate? The PTS is exclusively available via Uplay on PC. This is because Massive wants to quickly implement adjustments in the form of updates, which is significantly easier and faster on the PC than on PS4 and Xbox One. On consoles, updates have to undergo verification processes first.

What content can you test? According to Massive, they want targeted feedback from the community, so the new features will be activated gradually:
- Starting from September 16 (today), loot targeting and the Dark Zone are the focus
- From September 24, new exotics, balancing, and bug fixes will be introduced
- The PTS is expected to end on October 1
This timeline is only provisional and may change.
No narrative content, but plenty of adjustments
What can you expect on the PTS? Massive assures that there will be absolutely no new narrative content on the PTS. This means that story missions or secret assignments that will be introduced with Episode 2 and Title Update 6 will be missing from the PTS.
With the PTS for Episode 1, it was different – agents complained about spoilers, as PC players could view the new story content first.
This is loot targeting: From today, loot targeting is in focus. This is the name of the new loot feature that allows you to specifically acquire the items you still need. In certain areas and special missions, the loot pools are restricted, allowing you to get to the item type you desire more quickly. You can read all the details here:

After each testing phase, Massive will send a survey to the testers to gather as much feedback as possible. They also point out that many nerfs and buffs to items, skills, and weapons are not fixed and can change during the PTS. The update is still in the middle of development.
When will Title Update 6 be released? Massive indicated “October” as the release timeframe. Since the PTS closes on October 1, it can be assumed that the update will be released in about two to three weeks afterwards.
