The Loot Shooter The Division 2 shows signs of life! With the start of Season 9, there will be a new game mode that you can already try out on a test server starting tomorrow (April 1st). In addition, there will be new equipment, weapons, and a revision of the specializations. MeinMMO shows what is currently known.
The Division 2 hasn’t made headlines for a long time. Initially launched as a major competitor to Destiny, the loot shooter failed to meet expectations in many areas and was even considered a flop for Ubisoft.
When no one was expecting it anymore, the announcement came over a year ago: Division 2 will indeed receive new content. Although this was postponed again, it is now time.
Division 2 will bring a new game mode, new weapons, and equipment, and will also revise the specializations in a later update. What we already know about the new content will be explained in the following paragraphs.
By the way, we recently talked about The Division 2 in a podcast on MeinMMO:
Division 2: Season 9 – New Game Mode and Fresh Equipment
When does Season 9 come out? No date has been announced yet for the first season of year 4.
What is known about the new Season 9? Currently, information is still sparse. So far, the following has been announced:
- A new game mode that you can try out beforehand on a PC test server
- New weapons and new equipment
Details about the game mode and the new equipment have not been provided yet. At least for the game mode, that will change starting tomorrow.
How and when can I test the game mode? The PTS server starts on PC on April 1st. According to the developers, all PC players can participate in the test. Here’s the schedule:
- Download PTS via Ubisoft Connect
- Preload starts on March 31st at 4 PM
- PTS launch on April 1st at 11 AM
The focus of the test is on the new game mode. It is possible that there will be nothing else to see on the test server. We will embed the complete message from the developers on Twitter here:
What else has been announced? The developers’ message also speaks of a “renewal” of the specializations. However, no details were provided on this either.
However, these adjustments are said to come later, not with Season 9. It only says “later in year 4”.
In the announcements regarding the new content, the developers also promised “extensive changes to the endgame and other features.” This likely includes the adjustments to the specializations.
However, more details are expected to come later.
The Division 2 shows signs of life again after almost 6 months and announces new content. Season 9 is likely to be exciting again and maybe it will even bring some fans back to the game.
We would be very interested in your opinion on the subject. Will you visit the PTS? Are you planning to return for Season 9? Do you still actively play Division 2? Feel free to write to us in the comments.
