In The Division 2, the new endless mode in the skyscraper, which many players have been eagerly waiting for, is set to arrive with the next major update (Title Update 11). Possibly as early as September.
This is what the developers say about the upcoming endless mode: After nearly a month of silence, the developers have returned with a proper State of the Game. While there weren’t many important pieces of information, one detail is likely to delight many fans of the multiplayer shooter.
According to Massive, the skyscraper endless mode, which was announced in May, will come to the game with the next major update, namely Title Update 11 (TU11). That’s significantly sooner than most expected.
No further information was provided, but by the end of August, we should finally receive the first official details about the skyscraper.
When is this new mode supposed to be released? Massive did not provide a specific date. However, some believe it is possible that this new mode will be available in September 2020. But why?
Some speculate that the testing phase for Title Update 11 should run by the end of August. A release in September seems plausible, as it was similar with TU10. The developers also hinted at September during the stream, which some interpret as a sign – even though they appeared amused.
Additionally, it was mentioned “Soon,” meaning soon. And so far, soon has usually meant really soon with Massive. Thus, it is unlikely that we will have to wait another 3 months or half a year.
Will the new mode cost anything? This is a question many agents are currently asking. However, when posed with a corresponding question, the developers dodged. The answer will be revealed at a later time.
Some believe that the content might be paid, as Massive sidestepped this relatively simple question. But that has not been confirmed.
What is the skyscraper mode all about? Many players feel that The Division 2 lacks substantial content that captivates over the long term. Some have even declared the game a failure or dead.
However, a leak revealed in May that Ubisoft is working on a new PvE mode aimed at bringing high replayability – something that many players miss greatly in this loot shooter. Shortly thereafter, the developers confirmed work on such a mode.
It’s a replayable mode called “Skyscraper,” in which players will likely need to fight their way through many floors of a skyscraper. Many see parallels to the successful and popular endless mode Underground from part 1.
The interesting thing now is: It was initially said in May that the mode was still in early development. It was widely assumed that we wouldn’t see this new content until at least 2021. Many guessed March 2021. However, it appears that we won’t have to wait nearly as long for the latest signs of life.
Additionally, the skyscraper is meant to be not “Underground 2.0,” as many fans suspect, but something standalone and unique. They do not want to simply copy modes from part 1.
Are you looking forward to the new endless mode? Or has The Division 2 become completely uninteresting for you? By the way, even until TU11, the game is regularly being updated: Division 2: TU 10.1 is live and further reduces the large randomness in loot.
