In the State of the Game for The Division 2, it was announced at what time the Tidal Basin update will go live on April 5th. We summarize the information for you.
When is the update coming? On April 5th, there will be a server maintenance starting at 9:30. It is expected to last for 3 hours, so the servers should be back online by 12:30.
In addition, the developers revealed some more information about the contents of the update. Alongside the already known innovations like World Tier 5 and Gear Sets, an event will also start.

The Invasion Apparel Event brings new cosmetics
When is the event running? The Invasion Apparel Event will be active from April 5th to May 2nd.
What is it about? Agents can receive special containers that contain new cosmetic items, including
- Weapon skins,
- Emotes,
- Outfits
- and even masks.
Aside from the 12 Hunter Masks, there are currently no additional models in The Division 2.
How the event will unfold is not yet known. However, there should be no duplicates in the containers.
Optimizations and adjustments for skills
These are the quality-of-life optimizations: With the update, a FOV slider will be added to the game. This allows players to adjust their field of view.
Additionally, the sensitivity when aiming with sights will be adjusted.
These are the changes to the skills: Many skills like the precision turret, the chem launcher, or the firefly will be completely overhauled. They are expected to be much easier to use now.
The chem launcher, for example, should be played more like the popular sticky grenade in The Division 1.
There are buffs and nerfs for the weapons
These weapons are being nerfed: The hardest hit by the update will likely be the M700 sniper rifle and the Mk17 rifle. The base damage of both weapons will be reduced.
Both weapons have been part of the strongest builds in The Division 2, especially the Model 700 gained attention through a one-shot build.
According to developers, they are reluctant to weaken the weapons, but the other models should also be attractive. Therefore, some other weapons will be buffed.
These weapons are being buffed: In return,
- The LVOA-C rifle,
- the M4 light version rifle,
- the MG5 LMG
- and the ACS-12 shotgun.
Additionally, the precision of the individual weapon of the precision shooter will be increased.
Overall, the possible rolls of crit damage and headshot damage on gear will be reduced. This will also retroactively apply to your current gear.
The timing of the update was deliberately chosen as agents in World Tier 5 will collect better gear anyway. Thus, the impact on builds should be minimal.
Skill and weapon mods are completely overhauled
These are the changes to skill mods: Many skill mods previously had unrealistic requirements for skill strength.
This will be adjusted with the update; agents should now be able to use significantly more mods. However, do not be alarmed if the skill strength comes out lower after the update.
This is intentional; however, you will still be able to apply more mods.
These are the changes to weapon mods: Weapon mods will also be completely revamped. Many players were not satisfied with the previous functionality. Currently, mods have a positive and a negative effect.
After the update, there will be weapon mods without negative effects. However, that does not mean there will be no negative effects anymore. Instead, there will still be mods with negative effects, but their positive effect will be significantly higher.
This way, players have the freedom to choose which principle they prefer.
