The Division 2 has introduced what players can expect in the first year. A new trailer showcases all the free content. We summarize what is planned.
This is shown in the trailer: In addition to a fortress of the endgame faction Black Tusk, there is information about the 1st Raid and new specializations.
Additionally, there are first details about the 3 episodes that are to be released throughout the first year. Each of these DLC expansions will enhance The Division 2 on multiple levels. We present the contents to you.
Tidal Basin – A Fortress of the Black Tusk
What is behind it? Tidal Basin is a large base owned by the endgame faction Black Tusk.
Little is known about it so far; Tidal Basin has only been mentioned in connection with the 5th World Tier. This is apparently only unlocked when you complete Tidal Basin.
World Tiers are available in the endgame of The Division 2 and determine how strong your opponents are and how good the gear you find is. Thus, the last World Tier apparently cannot be unlocked at release.
Operation Dark Hours – the first Raid of The Division 2
This is the 1st Raid: Following Tidal Basin, Operation Dark Hours is the first 8-player raid. Teamplay and coordination are required in this.
The raid is probably located at Washington Ronald Reagan Airport, as indicated by an endgame trailer. It is supposed to present players with a new challenge.
The 3 DLC Episodes of Year 1
After the raid, three episodes are planned that will expand The Division 2 in many ways.

When are the episodes supposed to be released?
- Episode 1: Summer 2019
- Episode 2: Autumn 2019
- Episode 3: Winter 2019
Episode 1 “D.C. Outskirts”
What’s included in the 1st expansion Each of these episodes includes a new specialization, including a new unique weapon.
The first episode is called D.C. Outskirts Expeditions and takes you on two new main missions on the outskirts of Washington D.C.
Additionally, a new gameplay mode is introduced, where agents go on expeditions to locate a lost convoy.
Episode 2 “Pentagon – The Last Castle”
What’s included in the 2nd expansion: In the Pentagon episode, fitting to the name, it goes to the Pentagon.
Agents must storm the former government complex and secure information.
Episode 3 – Name unknown
What we know about Episode 3: The trailer reveals no details yet about the last expansion of Year 1.
However, the episode is supposed to conclude the main story that begins in the campaign of The Division 2 and pave the way for Year 2 and further story content.
New content is not limited to the episodes: As Massive confirmed in the State of the Game from February 27th, there will also be content between the episodes that is intended to fill the time in between.
Part of this content will likely also prepare the stories of the respective expansions. There are currently no further details on this.
New Specializations
What we know about the new specializations: Each of the expansions brings a new specialization with a unique weapon.
As with the already known specializations, there are also unique progress trees, skill mods, and other bonuses that you can unlock.
What exactly they are is not shown in the trailer. You can watch it in full here:
At the end of the trailer, the contents of the Year 1 pass are also presented again.
