New content for The Division 2: Surprisingly, Episode 3 launched on February 12 – the last Year-1 content for The Division 2. This brought numerous new features and improvements to the game.

What’s special about the new weapon? A new weapon was also included, which now expands the exotic arsenal of The Division 2 – the assault rifle Chameleon. This weapon is designed based on the Kriss Vector SMG and can dynamically adjust its color to match the surrounding environment.
But how do you get this new weapon exotic?
What you need to do for the new exotic Chameleon in The Division 2
Contrary to initial speculation, you cannot obtain the Chameleon from the DARPA research lab. It was assumed that the special coating of the weapon would originate from there.
Where can you find the Chameleon now? Currently, it seems that the weapon drops randomly from bosses in The Division 2. Players have reported drops in the open world. It likely comes down to luck with RNG.
However, a method has now crystallized where you can farm the new weapon exotic relatively quickly and safely.
How to get the Chameleon the fastest: Many players recommend bounties, as you can farm these comfortably and quickly. You can find them either in the operations base or simply in the map view under the bounty tab.
It appears that contrary to initial assumptions, neither the difficulty level nor the type of bounty (whether Black Tusks or Hyenas) matters – nor does it matter how many target data points it costs you. The weapon can drop from any bounty boss.
So, it’s best to just complete bounties – even free ones if you don’t have target data. Also, use matchmaking to speed things up a bit, and the weapon should drop after a few runs.
Many players report that they were able to acquire the Chameleon after their first 3-7 bounty bosses.
This is what the Chameleon can do: What makes the weapon stand out alongside its cool visual feature is primarily its talent Adaptive Instincts. This talent offers three buffs with different bonuses. Depending on which body region of the enemies you shoot at, different effects are triggered.
