The Division 2 is known for its constant shifts when it comes to new content, but today it is finally supposed to happen. The second DLC of the shooter will be released on all platforms and is supposed to bring you back to New York.
What is launching today? Today, May 27, 2025, the new DLC “Battle for Brooklyn” in The Division 2 is launching, five years after the release of the first DLC. With this expansion, fans will be brought back to New York to reclaim Brooklyn.
Simultaneously with the release of the DLC, the story will continue with Season “Crossroads”. It is about uncovering the truth behind Sokolova’s plans. The agents are in a race against time against the Black Tusk. New content will also include adjustments that are meant to improve the game.
DLC brings you back to New York
What new features can I expect? The DLC brings you back to New York, to the streets of Brooklyn. There you will have to face the growing threat of the Purple Flame. New enemies, skills, and items will be introduced into the game. The developers report in their blog post that the DLC lays the groundwork for what is supposed to come next in The Division 2 – specifics about future plans are not available.
As for Season “Crossroads”, there is more to report. You can expect the following content:
- Modifiers and enemy countermeasures are supposed to add variety to the battles.
- They change your duels, provide enemies with buffs such as increased movement speed, and increase the difficulty.
- Chases are still supposed to be published weekly, but there is no longer a need to complete them in a certain order.
- Seasonal travel is supposed to improve:
- Mission 4, 5, and 6 are now supposed to be unlocked simultaneously when Mission 3 is completed.
- Each mission is focused on a specific attribute.
- Passive modifiers are no longer unlocked by completing entire missions. Instead, they are tied to specific goals in Missions 4 to 7.
- Active modifiers will still be unlocked by achieving at least 6 goals in Missions 3-6.
- Mission 7 will be available when you have earned at least 4 passive modifiers from Missions 4-6.
- New weapons, talents, and equipment are to be added. Additionally, there are also three exotic items:
- The exotic weapon RPK-74 Pakhan
- The exotic equipment Nimble Holster
- The exotic mask “Tinkerer”
Are there any QoL adjustments? Yes, the update is also supposed to improve the player experience. Those who create a new agent will benefit from the new game introduction. The Division 2 offers its newcomers milestone boxes, which are given out at levels 8, 15, 25, and 35. Each of these boxes contains strong items that fit well together to create synergies and further refine your build.
Additionally, you can now earn progress for your seasonal travel when playing in co-op. Finally, the season-EP rewards for all activities in the living world, main missions, and game modes are supposed to increase by 85%. What do you think of the update?
