Until now, it was not confirmed, but now there is finally clarity. There will be no time-exclusive DLCs for The Division 2 that will be available on a specific platform. This was announced by Creative Director Julian Gerighty via Twitter. This is especially good news for players on PS4, who had to wait for The Division 1.
It was already announced at E3 that all expansions for The Division 2 will be released for free in the first year. Despite this good news, there were concerns in the community. Could Ubisoft set time-exclusive DLCs for a specific platform again?
Fortunately, this is unlikely to happen again. As Julian Gerighty, Creative Director at Massive, confirmed via Twitter, there will be no such exclusive DLCs for The Division 2.
This was the case in The Division 1
Big problem in The Division 1: In The Division 1, the DLCs of the first year were released one month earlier for PC and Xbox One. This led to, combined with the other issues, that the game was struggling with at that time, frustration in the PS4 community.
We reported back then about the dilemma with time exclusivity.
Thus, this practice robbed the curiosity and a lot of fun for those who had to wait for the time being. Fortunately, we will not face a similar situation with The Division 2.

DLCs for The Division 2 will be free in the first year
Already at the presentation of The Division 2 it was announced: All DLCs of the first year are planned to be released for free. According to the roadmap, three major expansions will be released, all of which will
- provide story content,
- map expansions,
- and new activities
As for the plans for the time after, nothing is currently known.
What do you think of the announcement?
