Ubisoft has finally released new information about the upcoming DLC for The Division 2, but the new image contains an error.
What kind of DLC is this?
- In April 2023, Ubisoft announced a new DLC for The Division 2 during Division Day. A name, story focus, or location was not yet known.
- This DLC was originally supposed to be released during the 5th year. However, it has been postponed several times since then.
- Aside from a narrative continuation of the story, the DLC is expected to offer new zones, major missions, and endgame structures.
The most recent postponement of the DLC took place on January 28, 2025. Ubisoft announced that the DLC will no longer be released during Year 6, but did not provide a release date. Until then, the team intends to take additional time to further refine the DLC to deliver the best possible gaming experience.

What are the new details about the DLC? Ubisoft posted a small preview of the DLC on X.com. In the announcement, the developers write: “We are returning to New York. The ‘Battle for Brooklyn’ DLC will be released this year.”
They shared an image showing three agents in New York. In the background is the Manhattan Bridge:
Overall, Ubisoft’s short post provides us with 3 new pieces of information about the DLC:
- The name of the DLC: Battle for Brooklyn
- The location: It returns to New York, specifically Brooklyn
- The release window: The DLC is still scheduled for 2025 despite the postponement
Brooklyn was the starting area of The Division 1, where players completed the tutorial and got familiar with the game mechanics for the first time. After that, they moved on to Manhattan, where most of the loot shooter action took place.
Players had already returned to Manhattan with the DLC “Warlords of New York”, which was released in 2020 for The Division 2. The main location of the sequel is Washington DC. Now, for the first time since The Division 1, they are going back to Brooklyn.
Fans find mistakes and complain about lack of information
What does the community say about the new information? The small preview of the DLC did not convince many people. As there was not much new information, an error in the image became a topic of discussion among fans. One user writes on Reddit: “I know for sure that you can’t take cover with a minigun!”
In the teaser image of the DLC, three agents are depicted, one of whom is armed with a minigun. The agent with the minigun is crouched next to a taxi and using it for cover – which is not possible in the game with a minigun. Another user aptly sums up: “The only one taking cover is the one who can’t take cover.”
Additionally, many players would have liked more hints about the new DLC.
