For months, agents have been wondering whether it is possible to purchase additional inventory space in The Division 2 with an expensive edition costing over 100 Euros. Massive clears this up now.
This raises the question: When all the contents of the various editions of The Division 2 were revealed in August 2018, the Ultimate Edition surprised everyone with a special bonus content. It includes the “Elite Agent Pack,” which mentions additional inventory space:
The Ultimate Edition costs a hefty 109.99 Euros, which is 50 Euros more than the Standard Edition and 10 Euros more than the Gold Edition, which also includes the Year 1 Pass. Otherwise, this Elite Agent Pack is only available in the Phoenix Shield Edition, which costs around 240 Euros.

Ultimate Edition grants early access to larger inventory
This is how many inventory slots you start with in The Division 2: Most of you will begin your agent journey in D.C. with 50 inventory slots. You can expand your inventory through a total of three upgrades during gameplay.
The three upgrade levels increase inventory capacity by 20, 30, and 50 slots. By playing, you collect SHD Tech, which you need to unlock perks. You also use SHD Tech to activate the inventory upgrades.
This is the maximum inventory size: In total, you can earn 150 inventory slots at the launch of The Division 2. 150 is the maximum for everyone – even for Ultimate Edition owners.
This advantage comes with the Ultimate Edition: The third inventory upgrade, which grants you 50 additional slots, is only available in the endgame starting from character level 30. With the Ultimate Edition, you have this third upgrade right from the start.
This means you start your agent journey with not 50, but 100 inventory slots. Furthermore, Massive emphasizes that the third upgrade is more expensive than most perks, allowing you to save a lot of SHD with the Ultimate Edition and activate other perks faster.
Do Ultimate Team owners now have “additional inventory slots”? At the start, they have 50 more inventory slots than the other agents. However, all players can earn these 50 inventory slots for free in the endgame. Therefore, the additional inventory slots are not exclusive to Ultimate Edition owners. Everyone can reach the same maximum.
All inventory expansions are free
This is what the developers say about further inventory upgrades: Massive states that further inventory capacities will not be monetized. If the available inventory size limits the gameplay experience, as there will be more and more new gear to earn during Year 1, appropriate measures will be taken. And these will be free for everyone.
