Today, on August 23, the servers of The Division 2 are down. Massive is addressing a sound issue that has been bothering agents for a long time. Update 1.11 is coming.
The Division 2 is currently a bit stagnant. After the expeditions, the major addition of the last DLC, were removed, many agents are wondering what they should do in the post-apocalypse – besides optimizing their builds.
Currently, we hear little from the developers – The Division 2 is in a summer break. However, today, on August 23, Massive is rolling out improvements that they have been working on recently.
When are the servers down?
- Maintenance will begin today, Friday, at 9:30 AM. You will not be able to log in. And if you are in the game at that time, you will be roughly removed. The maintenance applies to all platforms – PS4, Xbox One, PC.
- The servers should be back online around 12:30 PM. Massive estimates a three-hour downtime.
- Update: Update 1.11 is now live and can be downloaded. It is just under 200 MB.
Please note that these times may still change.

What changes today in The Division 2?
This issue is being addressed: The complete changes coming today will only be revealed by Massive during the server downtime. However, they are already providing this information in advance:
- A fix is coming to address issues with deteriorations, distortions, and dropouts of audio.
According to the “Maintenance Notes”, there will only be an improvement in sound – not all sound issues will be resolved, but only alleviated.
Update: You can find the full patch notes here. The update is now live and is around 195 MB in size. It will fix additional issues, such as collectible items still appearing on the map even though you have already collected them, or the Razorback in the raid not being counted as defeated.
What are these sound issues: The Division 2 has indeed been struggling with sound issues since launch. You can even look back further, as the beta versions had these issues as well.
The problems cause the sound to be delayed, not heard at all, or to have dropouts – especially when shooting with weapons, this is annoying, as it disrupts feedback and the feel of the weapons.
In the last few weeks, the sound issues have come to the forefront again, so we hope that today’s update will finally address them effectively.
However, the sound issue is not the only problem in The Division 2:
