It looks like a long-held dream of many Division agents may soon come true. A complete wearable Hunter outfit for The Division 2 is finally on the way. You can already earn an early version now.
What kind of outfit is set to come into the game? After Episode 3 surprisingly went live and the “Warlords of New York” expansion was announced for March 3, there was another surprise for The Division 2.
Some players can already secure an entire Hunter outfit. Soon, there should even be another version of this set that is intended for all players.
This should fulfill a dream for many. The Hunters, mysterious heavily armed and armored elite assassins, have a unique tactical look that many players have desired for their agents since Division 1.
But more than just ballistic masks, the iconic hallmark of the Hunters, has not been wearable until now. That is set to change.
This is what the Hunter outfit looks like: Currently, the following outfit can already be unlocked – but exclusively through a promotional action:
The set in Hunter style consists of:
- a top
- pants
- a ballistic mask
- a neck guard
- a pair of boots
- a special SMG
- and some backpack charms
However, the exact same set should soon also be available outside of the promotional action – completely in black, according to the developers.
How and when can you get this Hunter outfit? The promo set can already be secured now if you participate in the action. The black set is already finished and should be available in the game soon.
However, when and how exactly the black set will be available is still unknown.
Agents want to be Hunters in The Division 2
Where is the info coming from? The info comes in the form of a tweet from Yannick Banchereau, the Live Content Manager of The Division 2 – in response to the statement of an upset Division veteran.
When the promo action was announced and it was stated that the set could only be obtained by referring a friend to the game, there was a wave of outrage among long-time Division players. It was said that this would deprive many loyal fans of the ultimate outfit dream, as most or all of their friends already had The Division 2.
Yannick Banchereau then spoke up and announced that a black version of this outfit has already been made, which will then be accessible outside of the promotional action.
This is how you can already become a Hunter in The Division 2
This is how you can earn a Hunter set now: If you can’t wait and want to grab the set from the promotional action, you need to do the following:
- Sign up for the friend referral program on the corresponding page of Ubisoft and follow the instructions. You can participate on all platforms – so on PS4, Xbox One, and PC
- Invite friends and play 3 missions together (main missions or strongholds)
- Collect your reward (you will receive it in the game)
The more friends you refer, the more rewards you will receive:
- For your first recruit, there’s the complete Hunter outfit and the SMG, a blueprint, and a backpack trophy (the agent watches)
- for the second and third, each will receive another backpack trophy (the small timeline and the broken mask)
- the recruit will receive the SMG and 3 special crates, each with a key for clothing crates and a piece of equipment
Note: Some players report that this program is currently bugged. Not everyone seems to receive the outfit after the 3 missions.
Who are the Hunters anyway? Hunters are mysterious elite soldiers, almost killers, who made life hell for Division agents in part 1.
They were feared opponents who suddenly appeared out of nowhere, usually causing chaos and sweaty palms for players. Encounters with them often ended in a panicked retreat or death.
Not much is known about these hunters. Some fans suspect the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service behind this mysterious elite unit, which is well-trained and equipped, operating not just in New York but also in Washington – although not as intensely anymore.
However, they are set to play a more significant role in “Warlords of New York” soon.
