Although The Division 2 continues the story, it is not possible to carry over your character from the first game. However, you can earn small rewards for the successor in the first part of The Division. What exactly can you transfer from The Division 1 to The Division 2?
Those who have identified with their character in The Division must sadly say goodbye to their character for Part 2.
Here you can find out about the character settings in The Division 2.

Character transfer not possible in Division 2
New game, new heroes. It is not possible to carry your hero from The Division 1 over. The developers revealed this in an interview. You cannot take anything from the predecessor, not even equipment, and must start completely anew.
Why is there no character transfer? Creative Director Julian Gerighty explains that The Division 2 does many things anew, which leads to no possibility of carrying over the old hero. The entire progression system through which you upgrade your character is new.

The developers did not take the decision lightly. As Creative Director Julian Gerighty states, this was a very difficult decision, but it was necessary, and the team now considers it a good decision. The Division 2 is meant to offer a new gaming experience, and this includes many new game systems. This means everyone must start fresh and create a new hero, which you will level up from the beginning.
Earn rewards for Division 2
While you cannot take anything from the first title of the Division series, agents who were already part of The Division 1 will be rewarded in both games through the so-called Shields. These are new achievements in The Division 1. These Shields hold smaller rewards for agents, both in The Division 1 and in Part 2.
