There is information about the future of The Division and the recent changes before the release of update 1.4.
On October 25th, it’s finally happening: The patch 1.4 goes live and a completely new, revised gaming experience can be enjoyed by all agents – including on PS4 and Xbox One.
Massive wants to point out three changes that were made after the PTS week 4. If you haven’t followed the developments in The Division in recent weeks or even months, you can find all important details of update 1.4 here.
More High-end in the Underground
While update 1.4 is free for all agents cross-platform, you must keep in mind that the Underground is still only accessible to players who own the Underground DLC.
These underground missions are intended to become more lucrative by increasing the chance of higher quality items dropping from veterans and elite enemies. This does not mean that more loot will drop, but that the chance increases that the items are high-ends or gear sets – and not common items.
Additionally, ammunition capacity is addressed: Compared to 1.3, you can carry 50% more ammo with you in 1.4. It should be noted that “time to kill” has also been reduced, meaning you will need fewer bullets to take down an enemy. So you shouldn’t run out of ammunition that quickly. Massive will monitor this, consider user feedback, and possibly make adjustments in the future.
Furthermore, a little bit of tweaking has been done to the Ballistic Shield, which was completely unusable in certain situations. This has now been fixed.
A Look into the Future
The PTS phase has shown that Massive wants to continue working closely with the community in the future. They will keep investigating whether they can involve agents on PS4 and Xbox One in such tests, but they cannot guarantee that at the moment.
With update 1.4, certain areas in the game cannot yet be improved, such as named weapons. How these will be revised remains to be seen.
Additionally, the developers are looking forward to observing the new meta and further evolving the game. They are also eagerly awaiting to discuss “Survival“.
