In The Division 1.6, we present a sniper build based on the DeadEYE set. Is it worth it in PvP?
Do you enjoy playing with a sniper rifle but can’t find a suitable build? Then we have an interesting character setup for you here.
The YouTuber Disturbed Gaming presents his “Best Sniper PvP DPS” build in the video. In his opinion, it is an incredibly strong build that can eliminate opponents in PvP within seconds and might even be OP. We will show you how to recreate this build below the video.
How to Create the Sniper Build in 1.6
This build focuses on high firearm stats and the DeadEYE gear set. When you have equipped four pieces, you receive the following bonuses:
- 2-piece bonus: +40% Initial Stability
- 3-piece bonus: +20% Sniper Rifle Critical Hit Damage
- 4-piece bonus: Talent – In zoom, sniper rifles lose the headshot bonus but gain 100% critical hit chance. Works only with “zoomed scopes.” You must look through the sight for the talent to activate:

Due to the talent, you want items that boost your crit damage. Focus on these armor pieces:
- Chest Piece: High-end with Unyielding – Also bonus to health and enemy armor damage
- Backpack: DeadEYE with bonus to crit damage
- Mask: DeadEYE with bonus to enemy armor damage
- Gloves: High-end with bonus to sniper rifle damage, critical hit damage, and enemy armor damage
- Knees: DeadEYE with bonus to crit damage
- Holster: DeadEYE with bonus to health

Focus fully on firearms and additional bonuses that increase damage with armor pieces and armor mods. Health is welcome too, so you don’t go down immediately. For performance mods, you can look for bonuses for First Aid to enhance your survivability.
This weapon is used:
Surplus SVD (Sniper Rifle): The most important talent on it is Deadly, which increases critical hit damage by 15%. The other talents are Vengeful and Capable.
The weapon mods for this build: Use a C79 Scope (3.4x) with a bonus to critical hit damage and stability. Additionally, an Extended Magazine with a bonus to crit damage and fire rate. Also, a Grip with crit damage, precision, and reload speed, as well as a Suppressor with crit damage and headshot damage.
The Skills and Talents for the Build
Choose these Skills
- First Aid with the Injector Mod: You temporarily increase damage output and resistance to damage along with the normal healing effect.
- Pulse with the Tactical Scanner: Damage is increased against scanned targets. Alternatively, you can choose the Pulse Amplifier, which has a shorter cooldown.
These are the Character Talents
- Medical Aid: Use a first aid kit when health is low to increase damage resistance by 20% for 10 seconds.
- Dodge: While moving from cover to cover, damage taken is reduced by 30%.
- Tactical Advantage: Moving from cover to cover increases weapon damage by 2% for 5 seconds per meter traveled.
- Steady Hands: Entering cover reduces recoil by 25% for 10 seconds.

How Effective is the Build in Practice?
In the video, you can see the build in action around 13:30. In Last Stand, opponents fall with just a few hits in seconds. The great advantage is that you don’t need to aim for heads to deal increased damage. Every hit is a crit and deals good damage.
However, the DeadEYE set also has its disadvantages: If opponents do not stay still, it can be difficult to land multiple hits in a row with an active sight, with a “zoomed scope.” In many situations, one would prefer to grab an assault rifle and shoot down opponents directly. This DeadEYE playstyle might not suit every agent.
Nevertheless: If you want to create a strong sniper build, you have an interesting variant here.
