In The Division, update 1.6.1 has an official release date. Additionally, there is information about update 1.7.
The State of the Game took place on May 18. Finally, the official release date for update 1.6.1 was announced:
- 1.6.1 will be released on May 23 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. That’s a Tuesday.
A specific time has not yet been announced; however, in the past, maintenance work has always taken place for several hours starting at 9:30 AM before major updates, which ended around 12:30 PM. Then agents could explore the new content. Therefore, we assume that update 1.6.1 will also go live around midday.
What new features does update 1.6.1 bring?
The complete patch notes will be published on Monday. We will report on it then.
Update 1.6.1 is a quality update. This means that it will primarily include bug fixes, balance adjustments, and new features aimed at making life easier for agents. For example, the search mine with air detonation will be weakened, and the swiftness talent will be nerfed.
The biggest new features of this update are the loadouts and the inventory expansion. With loadouts, you can save your builds and quickly switch between them. You can read more information about the loadouts here.
ETF will preview update 1.7
Next week on Tuesday, the ETF, the Elite Task Force, will also start. The selected community representatives will discuss all content in year 2 with the developers and provide feedback.
Massive provided insights today about what ETF members will experience:
- They can preview an early build of update 1.7. This update is already far along in development. Together with the ETF, the necessary refinements will be made to the patch.
- However, most discussions will be about update 1.8. There is still plenty of time until then, so the developers can implement many ideas from the ETF, giving them a significant impact.
- In addition to updates 1.7 and 1.8, further quality updates, such as 1.8.1, are also possible.
- Important topics to be discussed include balancing, PvP, and the rogue mechanic.
Additionally, soon for all agents, new surveys will go live so that everyone can voice their opinions, which will also be heard.
Next week, there will be no State of the Game due to the ETF.
