Recently, the State of the Game aired on November 10, the weekly report from the developers. Numerous pieces of information were shared, which we will now present to you in a clear format.
New World Tier and new Max Gear Score are appropriate
In recent days, agents have been discussing a lot in the forums about whether World Tier 5 and the new maximum gear score of 256 are coming too soon. Both are to be introduced with Update 1.5, which is currently being tested on the PTS, the public test servers. After all, Update 1.4 has only been live for a few days now. And all the items that players are currently farming will become useless again with Update 1.5.
In the livestream, the developers mentioned that yes, with 1.5, the pursuit of higher quality items will start over again. But there are good reasons for that:
- The maximum gear score of 229 has been achievable for months, since 1.3. Many agents have already reached the maximum gear score. While 1.4 has only been live for a short time, the maximum has been climbed for some time. It is time for a new ceiling, even if 1.4 feels like a new start for many agents.
- Furthermore, with Survival more than just the Survival Mode is coming. Agents will have many new activities to do, justifying a new maximum. Much new content is coming.
- This is also a one-time occurrence: In the future, there will not be a new World Tier and a new maximum gear score introduced every month. This is a unique situation. This statement also indicates that Update 1.5 and Survival will likely be released at the end of November on PC and Xbox One. This would be a month after the launch of 1.4.
The inventory will be greatly expanded

- Massive speaks for the first time about the PS4 Pro: They are excited about the idea of optimizing The Division for the PS4 Pro. However, there is still no information to announce.
- With Update 1.5, performance will be improved. This should result in fewer lags.
- They are still testing the opposing armor damage in PvP. Players who predict that this will completely ruin the game are reassured by Massive: In PvP, this value will be treated differently than in PvE. Moreover, it will be thoroughly tested before being implemented into the live game.
PTS update comes tomorrow
Tomorrow, Friday, November 11, an update for the Survival PTS will come. The patch notes will be published in the near future. The PTS update will be accompanied by maintenance work. When exactly this will take place is still unknown. But as soon as the PTS are live again, the Survival mode will be disabled for a while. The focus will be on Update 1.5.
