The release of The Witcher 4 is still a long way off. Scammers are shamelessly exploiting players’ anticipation. Therefore, the developers of the game have reached out with a request.
How are players being lured into traps? Currently, invitations to so-called beta tests of The Witcher 4 seem to be increasingly sent out through various channels. The messages create the impression among recipients that they have the chance to get an early look at the highly anticipated game.
However, these are not messages from the developer CD Projekt RED, but from scammers. The development team is therefore reaching out to the community and providing valuable (and humorous) tips on how players can recognize these scams.

What advice do the developers of The Witcher 4 have for fans? In their statement on x.com, CD Projekt RED addresses their fans with a request not to respond to such invitations, as they are scams. Recipients or finders of such messages are asked to report them using the appropriate tool on the platform where they received the messages.
Additionally, they urge the community to be more like Geralt and Ciri. Because “professional monster hunters do not fall for scams; they see through them and slay them!”

They also assure that if there are indeed beta tests or similar early versions in the future, they would immediately share that information through official channels. Thus, this information would definitely not pass by interested monster hunters.
