With The Finals, the developers at Embark Studios have already achieved good success with their first shooter. Now the developers show what they are still working on, and you can try it out.
What kind of game is this? ARC Raiders is the second shooter from the developers at Embark Studios. The team, which consists in part of former Battlefield developers, has already released a good shooter with The Finals.
With ARC Raiders, it is supposed to go in a completely different direction than The Finals. The new title is an extraction shooter like Escape From Tarkov or Hunt: Showdown. In PvPvE battles, you will face not only human opponents but also robots controlled by the game itself.
The shooter takes place in a future where humanity has been forced into exile underground by robots. There, people reside and send the so-called ARC Raiders to the surface to gather materials. You control one such ARC Raider in the game.

Testing for the shooter is already underway
How can you play the shooter? ARC Raiders is not set to be released until 2025. However, you can get an impression of the game until October 27, as a technical test for the game is running on Steam.
The test is the largest so far for the game; however, the maximum player numbers are limited. If you want to try the game, you just need to “request access” on the game’s Steam page. This is free, but the game is set to cost €40 later. With a bit of luck, the confirmation will follow via email shortly after.
If you receive an invitation, according to the developers, you can invite up to two additional friends to play the shooter together with you. The maximum player count in ARC Raiders is three players.
Can you watch the game on Twitch? No, the technical test for ARC Raiders is still not intended for the public, and all testers must sign a confidentiality agreement. Therefore, there will be no streams, videos, or screenshots from the test.
What else is known about the game? So far, very little is known about ARC Raiders. The game was actually supposed to be released in 2022 and has been postponed several times since then.
In a press release that MeinMMO has, the developers explain that a round is supposed to last about 30 minutes. If you die, you lose all your loot during a round.
While the round is still ongoing, various extraction points will no longer be available. There will also be activities on the map where you can secure extra rewards.
How exactly ARC Raiders will be played is not yet known. However, the game seems to have the typical mechanics for the genre. For many fans of the game, the test will be the first opportunity to try the shooter.
