The Galactic War has also reached Over-Earth in Helldivers 2 and players from around the world are now fighting against the threat from space. They are holding their own and proving their strength, but no matter what they do, the developers don’t want their fans to win.
What are fans struggling with? For some time now, the Helldivers have been tirelessly fighting against the Illuminated invasion on Over-Earth, the last bastion of democracy. Should the Helldivers lose, it could mean the end of the campaign.
For now, players are holding their own and the end of the war is not yet set in stone. As if the battle were not enough, fans are faced with another problem: progress in the fight.
Fans currently have to secure various stations on Over-Earth and while they have been able to lose at almost all, there is one they are still tirelessly holding. At this location, the progress of the conquest has even been nearly pushed to the maximum, yet Arrowhead won’t acknowledge the victory.

What is making players angry? One of the remaining places that need to be held is called Equality-On-Sea, so equality at sea. Fans also call the place Over-China, due to its reference to Shanghai.
This place still needs to be conquered, yet although many Helldivers are fighting for it, they are not victorious. The progress currently remains at exactly 99.9783 %. Frustrating, considering what is at stake.
Some Chinese Helldivers even see a sinister move by Arrowhead, the developers of Helldivers 2, behind this, but the fans have likely forgotten how war actually works.
The area cannot be conquered as long as the enemies are still there: And that’s exactly what it’s about. While over 2,600 negative reviews bombard Helldivers 2 on Steam, there is a valid reason why Over-China cannot be brought under control: the enemies.
The fleet of the Illuminated is still roaming over Over-Earth and is thus present. As long as that is the case, the Helldivers cannot fully take the area, no matter how hard they try.
With up to 18,000 upvotes on Reddit, many other players have understood this as well and are urging their Chinese colleagues to stop the review bombing. Here’s what can be heard on Reddit:

It remains to be seen how the war will develop and whether the Helldivers can prove themselves despite review bombing.
