In Dune: Awakening, the developers are currently warning about a quest. Players are advised not to complete it, as it causes them to lose their own Ornithopter. The community has now found a way to avoid the loss while still completing the quest.
Which quest is it about? The developers of Dune: Awakening are currently highlighting a bug during the quest “Searching for Answers.” The quest is part of the quest line involving the NPC “Zantara,” taking place in the social hubs Harko Village and Arrakeen.
For the quest, players first need to travel to Arrakeen. Many do this with their own Ornithopter. After that, they proceed to Harko Village, where the bug occurs after the quest is completed.

Bug eats Ornithopter
What kind of bug is it? At the end of the quest “Searching for Answers,” you find yourself in Harko Village, but your Ornithopter seems to have disappeared. It cannot be found in the Vehicle Backup Tool or in the garages of Harko Village or Arrakeen.
As users on Reddit report, the Ornithopter is likely lost when traveling between the cities. The developers are officially warning about this known issue on Discord, advising not to complete the quest. It states:
Completing ‘Searching for Answers’ can lead to the loss of your Ornithopter. We are investigating this issue and working on a solution. Please avoid this mission in the meantime.
How can one still complete the quest? While the developers recommend not completing the quest at all, players do not want to be stopped and have developed a workaround that should work without losing their aircraft.
As user Kashinoda explains on Reddit, after the mission where you sit in a bar in Arrakeen and see two other characters in the cutscene, you need to fly back to the Hagga Basin with your Ornithopter.
From the Hagga Basin, you then use the fast travel function to Harko Village. It’s best to leave your Ornithopter safely in your base in the Hagga Basin, ensuring nothing happens. After completing the quest, you can use your aircraft as usual.
