In Fortnite, Epic has released many weapons onto the map. However, one was so brutal that it was put back into the vault after a very short time. We now show you a weapon that certainly few of you know.
What is the vault? The notorious vault is an invisible space in the data of Fortnite. All items, weapons, and vehicles that are currently not in use are stored there. They are not deleted but merely stored to possibly be brought back to life at a later time.
While an item is in the vault, it cannot appear in the game or be used.
Air Strike – The bombardment with no way out
What kind of weapon is this? The notorious weapon is called Air Strike and is a gray grenade with a red bomb symbol on the canister. It was introduced to the game in version 9.30 of Fortnite after an update and caused many mixed feelings.
The grenade, as the name suggests, sends an air strike to the impact site. This then bombards the marked area extensively, tearing apart buildings and players alike.

What happened to the grenade? It didn’t take long, and the device ended up in the vault. Players could bomb everything into tiny pieces for about three weeks in Season 9 until the fun was over. Then, on August 1, 2019, Season 10 started without the new weapon.
What was the reason for the ban? This was not entirely clear. Fortnite Wiki stated the following “It was probably brought to the vault due to its impractical handling.” Whether that is the true reason is unknown. However, the fact remains that it was definitely very strong.
You could carry four of them in your inventory. In addition, multiple can be thrown at the same target in succession to spam an opponent to death. The effect of the bombardment lasted a full 8 seconds.
It’s a shame that after the release of the grenade, players only had three weeks to test it out in Battle Royale.
After that, they were banned and only appeared in Creative mode. However, this gadget truly represented the character of Fortnite. The wild and funny moments that could be achieved with them were certainly unforgettable, and hopefully, such crazy weapons will continue to appear in Fortnite.
