The latest killer in Dead by Daylight is announced with a puzzle. But the community is already sure about who it will be: Pinhead from Hellraiser.
Every 3 months, a new killer appears in Dead by Daylight to heat things up for the community and bring new dangers to the world of the Entity. This time, Behaviour has chosen to release small hints, which are slowly but surely published. But the fans of the horror game are already quite sure about who is coming next: Pinhead from the Hellraiser franchise.
What hints have there been? For several days now, Dead by Daylight has been publishing a series of seemingly harmless questions on its social media channels. For example, a bench is shown and asked: “Which DbD character would you like to just sit on a bench and chat with?”
But the community quickly noticed: There are letters hidden in the images! Gradually, the following letters have been discovered in the images:

- S
- A
- E
- R
What does the community conclude? In the subreddit, there is a lively discussion, but the latest theory is that the next killer is “Pinhead.” He comes from the “Hellraiser” franchise – and perfectly fits the letters that have been released so far.
Another clue is a nail that was hidden in one of the screenshots. The image shows a map from Dead by Daylight – where the nail does not exist. This also points to Pinhead.
Who is Pinhead? Pinhead is a follower of a cult from another dimension, the Cenobites. The Cenobites are a strange cult based in hell that seeks to achieve a higher state of being through sadomasochism. You can watch the trailer for the movies here:
Consequently, Pinhead also looks a certain way. Visually at first glance, a human, his head has been adorned with blades resulting in horizontal and vertical cuts, with nails affixed at the intersections. Pinhead is a name that was created by fans of the franchise; officially, the creature was only called “the Priest” or “Leader of the Cenobites.”
How likely is it? The letters gathered so far and also the nail make it very likely that Pinhead could be the next killer in Dead by Daylight. Even though the movies (especially in Germany) were released quite late, Hellraiser is considered a classic horror and fits into many other successful horror franchises. Pinhead would thus be a perfect addition to the killer roster in Dead by Daylight.
