Capcom presented the “Day One Patch” of Monster Hunter World in a live stream. The abilities of the lucky pig Poogie and features introduced with the first patch 1.01 are showcased. Additionally, there was footage from the third open beta. This will be the last chance to play Monster Hunter World before the launch.
In the live stream, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto showed more gameplay of Monster Hunter World. The scenes mainly take place in the research city of Astera and the Ancient Forest.
Astera is the focal point of Monster Hunter World. Here, you can obtain quests or have weapons crafted at the forge. The Ancient Forest is the first map you can enter.
The first update 1.01 of Monster Hunter World arrives on release day
Monster Hunter World will celebrate its worldwide release on January 26 on PS4 and Xbox One. The first patch 1.01 will also arrive, bringing new features:
- Watch old video sequences in online gameplay: It will be possible to rewatch old video scenes in the game. They will advance the story of Monster Hunter World.
- The house pig Poogie is back! Poogie is a fan favorite and the loyal house pig of every hunter. You can carry the little pig around and cuddle it. If it likes you, it will give you tips on where to find certain items. According to legend, Poogie even brings luck…
In the stream, you can also observe the hunter talking to different NPCs. Among them is a fisherman who is fishing in the Ancient Forest.
Gameplay material from the third beta – This is what the fight against the Nergigante looks like
After the developers revealed the first information about the “Day One Patch”, they showcased footage from the third PS4 beta. This time, a fourth quest will be offered, in which you can hunt the devilish Nergigante. This Elder Dragon is covered in spikes that grow back stronger as they break off.
