The Day Before, the formerly most-wanted game on Steam, has released a new gameplay video and players are not thrilled.
What happened with The Day Before? The survival game “The Day Before” has a tough standing among gamers, as the development studio Fntastic is struggling with accusations that their game is just a scam and doesn’t even exist.
After a first trailer for The Day Before in 2021 raised high expectations and many players hoped for a survival “The Division” with zombies, the title became the most-wanted game on Steam. Then, things took a sharp downturn.
- The Day Before has been postponed several times
- New gameplay scenes disappointed fans because they looked significantly worse than the first trailer
- The Day Before has been removed from Steam because the studio doesn’t own the naming rights.
Sauna Evening in the Zombie Apocalypse
What is this new video about? The Day Before has posted a new video on the game’s YouTube channel that shows gameplay of the game in a way – but no exciting battles against armed looters or bloodthirsty zombies.
In the new video, which lasts about a minute, the player character goes through a door and enters a sauna… in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. Now he sits down in a pool inside the sauna and relaxes. The end.

“They are trolling everyone who still wants this ‘game'”
What are the reactions like? Rarely is the question of how the reactions to a gameplay video look so clear: not good.
With some thorough searching, one can find a positive comment on YouTube. For instance, the user Vxnguxrd writes: “I am still looking forward to this game, regardless of what others have to say.”
However, the overwhelming majority of gamers are either angry or sarcastic and condescending towards the game:
- zmilchton: “Wow, captivating gameplay from a game that really exists.”
- User16: “[…] That is the kind of video that attracts negative attention…”
- Hey Mort: “This is ridiculous. They are trolling everyone who still wants this ‘game’.”
