The puzzle about the Niobe Labs in Destiny 2 is solved. But one sentence from Bungie is causing Guardians a lot of trouble: Apparently a hint for level 7 was not in the game due to a bug. Bungie says: A part of the puzzle was missing.
Here was the problem: For days, the puzzle solvers and Guardians were struggling with level 7 of the “Niobe Lab” puzzle. With a lot of trial and error, thinking, and puzzle talent, the first 6 stages of the riddle could be solved relatively quickly. But level 7 proved to be an incredibly tough nut to crack.
Even after days of guessing people simply couldn’t get any further and some gave up in despair.

This brings the solution: On Friday evening, the community manager of Destiny 2 posted in the Bungie forum with this post:
Greetings Guardians
The Niobe Labs brought together some of the brightest minds in the Destiny 2 community to try and solve the puzzle.
Unfortunately, a string on level 7 was improperly removed. It would have provided more information.
As compensation for the missing part of the puzzle, we provide you with this hint to solve Niobe Labs once and for all.
Then Cozmo gives this hint to the Guardians to solve level 7.
With weapons imbued
Through sights unseen
Craft truth from the Hand
Return the dials to the crest
Stay true to the map
To prove thy knowledge of the family three
With this hint, r/raidsecrets and eventually Gladd with his fireteam were finally able to solve the riddle, and there was a Ghost shell and an emblem as a reward.
These questions remain open: Unfortunately, Bungie does not provide any details on what exactly this “string” would have looked like and whether it would have provided the info Guardians needed to crack the riddle.
However, it is quite noticeable that all 6 stages were solved relatively quickly and only level 7 held up progress so much. If a part of the puzzle was indeed missing, it casts a whole different light on the problem.
The questions now are:
- What was the hint?
- Could the Guardians have solved the riddle with the accidentally deleted hint maybe by Tuesday evening, as planned?
- Why did Bungie only notice so late that an important hint was missing?
