A new cinematic for World of Warcraft has been revealed. Check out how little mercy the night elf Malfurion knows.
At BlizzCon 2018, many new details about World of Warcraft were revealed. Although Patch 8.1 Tides of Vengeance is not the focus of Blizzard’s in-house fair, some new information was still shared. One of the highlights was one of the cinematics that will play during Patch 8.1. It takes place at Darkshore and tells of the ongoing conflict between the Forsaken and the night elves.
Here you can watch the cinematic “Terror of Darkshore”:
The Alliance Strikes Back: The cinematic shows Nathanos Blightcaller and a leader of the orcs discussing the supply of troops at Darkshore. A delivery of supplies has been destroyed and only one survived the attack. This surviving troll tells the story of how he and his troops were attacked by a gigantic bear. The bear turns out to be a night elf druid – Malfurion Stormrage.
The cinematic ends with Tyrande and Malfurion preparing to attack the Horde’s camp and facing Nathanos eye to eye. The setting for the warfront is established.
Night elves are not tree huggers: During the presentation of the cinematic, Blizzard explained that they wanted to depict the wild and dangerous side of the night elves, striking fear into the hearts of their enemies. This returns somewhat to the roots of Warcraft 3.
Patch 8.1 also now has a release date.
What do you think of this cinematic? Do you think it’s good how Malfurion and Tyrande are portrayed here? Or do you not like the cinematic?
Another cinematic for WoW has also been revealed – here you can see how Saurfang escapes from the dungeons of Stormwind.
