In Ubisoft’s racing game The Crew, the major January update brings a new vehicle for the police. Additionally, there are leagues for both factions, new rewards, and improved balance.
A major update for the racing game The Crew is set for January 25, 2017. Included: The hefty McLaren 12C GT3 for the police faction. Perfect for ruining the fun of those unruly street racers. However, the new car is not the only highlight of the patch.
Better Balance and New Leagues
The January patch for The Crew is mainly responsible for greater fairness and better balance in the game. Here are the following new features in the update:
- Improved player matchmaking for chases: Previously, it was common for three or four racers to face off against one poor police officer. This should be a thing of the past with the patch.
- Changed skills: Some skills have been adjusted to ensure more fairness. Flashbangs are now stronger, impulse shocks have a 10-second longer cooldown, and the “Endless Nitro” cooldown has decreased from 30 to 20 seconds.
- The police AI now reacts better to your progress and is more aggressive with higher-tier vehicles.
- Rewards: Police and racers receive different rewards. These start at about 8,250 bucks and can rise to a maximum of 16,500 or drop to zero.
- New leagues: Police and racers each get a new league with four tiers. You start in the 4th tier and can climb up to the 1st department.
- Bug fixes: Some bugs have been fixed, including the bug with the disappearing GPS, incorrectly displayed scores in PvP, and a bug that prevented some abilities from triggering.
So, the January patch should result in fairer and more balanced races in The Crew. You can find the complete patch notes for the January update for The Crew in the source citation.
