In the upcoming The Crew 2, it’s not just about virtual roads, but also about water and air. In a new clip, Ubisoft and Ivory Tower show not only the open game world but also how the transformation of the vehicle takes place.
In the upcoming The Crew 2, players will traverse the USA again. This time, however, they are not only limited to cars and their four wheels but can also take to the water or the air.
After The Crew 2 was originally planned for March 16, it is now set to be released on June 29, 2018 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC .
Transformation at the push of a button
In a new clip, the developers now showcase twelve minutes of gameplay from the open world of The Crew 2. Special attention is given to the new transformation feature that allows players to transform their vehicle from a car into a plane or a boat.
All of this works at the push of a button: As seen in the video, players can dynamically switch between the different modes of transportation without much waiting time. For example, congested roads can easily be bypassed with the airplane to switch back to the car right after the traffic jam.
In addition to the transformations, more details from The Crew 2 are presented:

- Challenges that can be completed in the game world, as well as combos when multiple challenges are tackled in succession

Beta still awaited
A beta for The Crew 2 is still awaited. Interested players have been able to register for a beta since December 2017, but when it will take place is currently unknown.
Recently, a Closed Alpha took place from March 14 to March 19 for Uplay players. However, this was subject to a confidentiality agreement, so that screenshots and videos could not be shared with the public.
