The creators of EVE Online are working on a new survival MMO and are currently inviting players to a free test. However, these players are not quite sure what to expect and are rather skeptical.
What game are we talking about? We are referring to EVE Frontier. According to the developers at CCP Games, it is a hardcore space survival MMO set in the universe of EVE Online – a very popular space MMORPG that still receives new content even 22 years after its release.
With a new teaser, the developers invite fans to test EVE Frontier for free. However, they are not really convinced yet.

Hardly any real information, first players must stay silent
What is the problem? Many fans find the marketing for the game so far to be far too cryptic. The developers have still not released any proper gameplay that shows players what they are getting into. Additionally, testers must agree to a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
Due to the lack of transparency from the developers, many people are reacting with suspicion to the free trial. In the comments on the teaser on YouTube, they write:
- andrewbob3002: “Still zero gameplay shown and an NDA to get into the Free Trial. Seems suspicious”
- relhimp: “Yeah, thanks for the invitation, appreciated… What exactly will I be playing again?”
Lazzarus7 has been following the project for a while and is also frustrated about how little the developers reveal: “I said it with the first trailer and I’ll say it again, this is not a way to market the game. […] Just release 5 to 10 minutes of gameplay and a clear description of what this is.”
Where can I sign up for the test? If you want to know more about what EVE Frontier is about, you won’t be able to avoid the test for now. It runs until February 24, and you can sign up through evefrontier.com, the official website for the game.
