The 2nd season of the Netflix series One Piece is currently in production. The mangaka of the original story visited the film set and shared some images of himself visiting the production site and posing with the new actors.
What do the pictures show? In almost all of the images, Oda himself can be seen, but with a fish as a head, hiding his face (via Netflix on X). The mangaka has been using this disguise for many years, as he does not want to see his face in photos.
Next to him, actors and filming locations from the 2nd season can be recognized. We have compiled the images for you here as a gallery:
One picture shows, for example, the castle of Wapol. In the background, we see a fireplace that looks like a hippopotamus with its mouth wide open. On the right side, even Dalton can be seen, whom you can recognize by his green coat.
In addition, we see the Flying Lamb, other areas, and the two actresses for Vivi as well as Nico Robin.

Oda is excited about the set and the actors
What does the creator think of the set? On the set, the creator of One Piece met not only the actors from season 1 but also the new ones from season 2. He revealed that he saw the actors in person for the first time there. The selection of actors was done through photos and videos from Japan, which is why he could not be sure until that day whether he had made the right choice.
However, as he notes, the actors are perfect. Along with the pictures, he added a message expressing his enthusiasm:
The set is massive and the mangaka is aware of how important his role is for the series. Just from the feeling, Oda says that season 2 will surpass the first. This is also due to the love of the crew for the project and the many details that are incorporated into the series.
One such example is a character from season 1 that was not directly visible in the manga. Oda couldn’t even remember him.
When is season 2 of One Piece coming out? The live-action adaptation is currently being filmed in South Africa. It will still take several months before the scenes are shot and edited. Therefore, the series is likely to premiere sometime in mid or late 2025. There is still no fixed date.
In addition to the series with real actors, a remake of the anime is in the works. Here, too, there have already been first images showing that the art style differs from the original series.
