In Pokémon GO, there may soon be more adjustments related to the coronavirus. At least that’s what John Hanke, the CEO of Niantic, suggested. But what can we expect?
What was said? On Twitter, John Hanke spoke out. The CEO of Niantic is usually quite reserved, but yesterday he responded to a fan’s question.
A fan asked if every trainer could receive a temporary PokéStop, at least until the crisis is over. Hanke replied, “We are working on more adjustments.”
So, players can expect something more to come. But what is realistic and what do the fans demand?
These adjustments are desired by trainers
What do the trainers want? John Hanke’s comment was directly shared on reddit and hundreds of trainers posted their ideas for adjustments there. Here are some suggestions:
- Every trainer should receive a PokéStop in front of their door so they don’t have to go outside for Poké Balls and other items
- Daily login bonuses that guarantee Poké Balls or berries
- Our buddy could be sent out to gather Poké Balls
- A new item could be introduced that allows setting up a temporary PokéStop, which will then disappear
- The Safari Ball could be introduced, which would be available for a limited time and provide unlimited Poké Balls
- A similar offer for Poké Balls, like for incense – 50 Poké Balls for 1 Poké Coin per day has been suggested
What sounds plausible? The biggest problem is indeed the lack of Poké Balls. Thousands of players are complaining about this and Niantic must respond if they do not want to lose many trainers. So we can certainly expect an adjustment here.
In Wizards Unite, another game by Niantic, you can find spell energy on the street. This is similarly important there as a Poké Ball in Pokémon GO. Something similar could be expected in Pokémon GO: for instance, Poké Balls could simply lie on the street.
Daily login bonuses also seem possible. After all, a similar system exists in Wizards Unite. So, one could at least receive a handful of Poké Balls per day.
The approach to a temporary PokéStop or the Safari Balls seems a bit drastic. Especially having unlimited Poké Balls for a limited time could entice many trainers to go outside. It is necessary to weigh what bonuses are so appealing that they might even encourage going out.
What do you think, what other adjustments are planned for Pokémon GO?
- A trainer has already proposed 3 solutions for the ball shortage
- Another trainer was caught by the police while playing despite the lockdown.
Please consider that there is currently a risk of contracting the coronavirus. The Federal Center for Health Education recommends staying at home as much as possible, maintaining distance from others, and avoiding crowds. Niantic has taken various measures so that you can play Pokémon GO from home .
