In Pokémon GO a new event centered around Bug Pokémon has been announced! This time there are bonuses for the item Incense that have never been seen before.
This is the event: This time it’s all about Bugs. There will be more Bug Pokémon in the wild everywhere. Also, Incense items will last longer and attract more Pokémon.
When does the event run? The event starts on April 2 at 9 PM and ends on April 9 at 9 PM German time.

Are there Shinies? New Shinies have not been announced. However, you will certainly have the chance to catch Tangela, Caterpie and Pinsir. These Pokémon are already available in their shiny form.
Niantic shows a Scyther in their announcement image. Whether this Pokémon will be released as a Shiny remains to be seen. After all, there was a similar image with Weepinbell for the Plant Event and that Pokémon was not available as a Shiny.
What other Bugs are there? There are not particularly strong Bug Pokémon. Somewhat rarer ones like Yanma or Masquerain can be found. These are likely to appear more frequently in the event.
What is known about the field researches: So far, no quests for the event have been found in the code, but this should follow soon. Many players hope for a return of the Tangela Quest since it has a shiny variant.
However, we will likely have to wait until April 2 for the rewards. But we will inform you immediately as soon as more is known.
