Blizzard has published the schedule for BlizzCon 2018. The hints of a new Diablo are becoming clearer. Will it be a Diablo 4 or another version of Diablo?
In exactly one month, BlizzCon 2018 will take place. At Blizzard’s house fair, there will be fresh information about all major franchises of the game studio – namely Diablo, Warcraft, Overwatch, and Hearthstone. However, this year, one entry stands out prominently – and that is Diablo.
Fans were afraid that there would only be the announcement of a new season of Diablo or the unveiling of a new playable class as DLC at BlizzCon 2018. However, that does not seem to be the case.
Significant time unit for Diablo: The reason for this is that the Diablo panel takes place directly after the “Opening Ceremony” and lasts a full 45 minutes – exactly as long as the presentations of the other major franchises.
Players are sure that Blizzard is not scheduling a 45-minute slot just to announce a small detail in Diablo. For many, it is already clear: This will be a brand new Diablo title.

Skepticism remains: However, some fans view the situation skeptically and assume that the presentation will be a “summary action” and many small things will be presented. They expect a new Diablo 3 DLC, the announcement of a Diablo 2 remake, and otherwise just minor details.
Nevertheless, one must not forget that Blizzard already confirmed an unannounced Diablo project a while ago.
Free timeslot sparks speculation: Interestingly, there is also a free slot on the “Mythic Stage”, which is the stage for the major main events, on Saturday. No event is registered in this time yet. It is possible that Blizzard will pull a surprise out of the hat – or that the stage is simply unoccupied at that time.
Anyone interested in BlizzCon can follow it via livestream if they purchase a virtual ticket. This costs a hefty 40 Euros this year and comes with some goodies, such as a skin for Sombra and several WoW cosmetics.
The Opening Ceremony, which is free for all interested parties and already includes the new announcements, begins on Friday, November 2 at 7:00 PM. The Diablo presentation follows directly after at 8:30 PM.
