The dark survival MMORPG The Black Death launched in November of last year in Early Access, but it cannot be said that it has been a success. The team has taken drastic measures to revamp The Black Death.
The numbers on Steamcharts are actually a disaster for The Black Death. During “peak times,” about 30 players are currently online at the same time. Normally, only a handful are playing at the same time.
These are not good numbers for an MMORPG. The developers have realized this as well. They have now pulled the emergency brake to consider how they can still turn things around. They decided to resort to “drastic measures.”
That’s why the last update took so long to arrive.
A major update is expected to bring a revival
The team behind The Black Death has now reviewed its course and will make some major adjustments to the game with the upcoming update. This is hoped to make it more attractive for players and to bring it closer to the original vision of the developers.
Among other things, a day-night cycle is the smallest new feature, although interesting, as gameplay mechanics are planned for the future that will be tied to day and night. Additionally, the housing system will be revised to offer you even more options to set up nicely.
New areas, music, and combat
New music tracks and spawn points are also included in the update, just like a revamp of the combat system. With a new physics system, hits are more precise and hit feedback is clearer. New areas will also find their way into the game, where you can experience PvE adventures.
Places filled with bandits, victims of the plague, and wild animals are waiting to be explored, as there is plenty of valuable loot lurking there. However, you should be aware that many dangers await you there.
